Spice comes from a union between Hawaiian Indica and Sativa marijuana strains. It was brought to Hawaii from a Kona traveler that had collected marijuana seeds in Asia. Then Spice was passed on to the Mr. Nice breeder, Shantibaba, in 1984, and since then has been stabilized and selectively bred.

Spice is a tall plant that grows perfect straight outdoors reaching up to 6-9 feet tall. The huge fan leaves of this plant develop a purple tinge while the plant finishes flowers, and has very thick stems so you don’t really need to stake the plants. Fiery red hairs form on the colas are a sign that Spice is indeed very spicy and a great smoke. The colas from Spice are very dense and form a banana-shaped curve while it finishes. Spice is great when grown indoors in a sea of green garden due to its straight growing patterns. It is a very quick grower that has only light branching and open structure to provide the most air flow possible that helps grow larger plants.

Spice’s harvests often give you an average of 480-600 grams per square meter making it a very high yielding plant. The finished bud is quite spicey, indicative of the strain’s name, and also is mixed in with some exotic fruity tastes. The smell of the smoke is also very incense-like and calming. It can be dizzying at times, with a very sleepy body stone that will lock you onto the couch. If you smoke alot of Spice you might be going to sleep before you know it.
